Double or Nothing Two-Step travels to corporate events, weddings, bachelorette parties, birthdays, and family reunions across Austin and the Texas Hill Country. We can also host your group at one of our partner honky-tonks and venues, so you never have to hunt for a space. Do I need a partner to take a two-step lesson?
No partner is needed at any Double or Nothing Two-Step lesson. Dancers rotate throughout class, and most people arrive on their own. A partner is never guaranteed, but nobody sits out.
Where can I take two-step lessons in Austin?
Double or Nothing Two-Step teaches drop-in lessons every Tuesday and Sunday at Sagebrush and every Wednesday at Donn's Depot, from Beginner through Advanced, with live music after. Multi-week studio classes run at a South Austin dance studio and cover two-step, polka, waltz, and honky-tonk jitterbug. Private lessons are one-on-one or small group. See the full lesson schedule.
Do you teach corporate events and private parties?
Double or Nothing Two-Step brings dance lessons to offsites, happy hours, holiday parties, company picnics, client events, wedding receptions, rehearsal dinners, bachelorette parties, and birthdays, for groups from 6 to 6,000. We also stage choreographed flash mobs for product launches and conference stages, and we rehearse your crew beforehand. Check your date.
Can I learn Austin two-step if I do not live in Austin?
Yes. Honky-Tonk Dance School teaches Austin honky-tonk two-step online, at your own pace, from anywhere. It is the same style Double or Nothing Two-Step teaches on Austin dance floors.
How much does a lesson cost?
Studio class Spots start at $25. Private lessons start at $98 for one person and $118 for two, for 50 minutes. Drop-in lessons at the honky-tonks are pay-at-the-door, set by the venue, so check this week's schedule. Group events are quoted to your date and headcount, so send us the details.
Do I need experience to start?
No experience is needed. Beginner lessons assume you have never danced before, and instructors break every step down from zero. Boots help, but any comfortable smooth-soled shoe works.
